I made this scarf for the fencing champion of the Canton of Porte de l’Eau in An Tir. The “Gouty Gecko” is part of the heraldry of the branch.
The scarf itself is meant to be worn around the upper arm. I sewed the scarf from two colors of medium weight linen.
The body of the gecko is stitched with chain stitch, its white eye is done in satin stitch, the drops (heraldic term: goutte) are larger, individual chain stitches and the whole shape is outlined in couched silver-wrapped metal thread.
